Gonewalla

Bye, bye Gowalla, the app I loved, that they changed for the worse has officially closed down. Sad times indeed.

After the news around three months ago that Facebook has acquired the staff of Gowalla (not the data) things have been real quiet from Gowalla about what happens next; well it would seem that nothing happens next as today it was officially done with the following message on their website:

“Thank you for going out with Gowalla. It was a pleasure to journey with you around the world. Download your check-ins, photos and lists here soon.”

Sadly I don’t see much point in being able to download old check-ins. I guess looking at where I’ve been is cool, but it’s not going to be the same.

I’ll miss you Gowalla and your badges 🙁
