Olloclip

January 24, 2012

After being way overly impressed with my friends Olloclip 3-in-one photo lens for the iPhone I went and bought my own!

Sadly it wasn’t as cheap as I was hoping at $69.99 and then having to pay £17.00 in tax was a bit of a kick in the nuts, but I was glad to finally get the thing after waiting nearly a month for the item to arrive.

The Olloclip consists of macro, fish-eye and wide angle lenses and is very well built, Olloclip started out as a Kickstarter project, made what it needed to and has made a name for itself from there.

Fish eye and macro lenses
The Fish-eye and Macro lenses are particularly cool.

Olloclip works by simply clipping on to the top corner of the iPhone, with the Fish-eye lens on one side, then flip it the other way to use the wide-angle lens, then screw this lens off to use the macro lens – it’s a really small, well built piece of kit and comes with a small bag to put the lens in to keep it safe.

The lens is of such a size than it can easily be carried in a pocket or bag and with my iPhone 4S having an 8mb camera anyway, its quite fun thinking I can get good quality photos with a variety of different lenses on the go.
