Back from Build!
November 16, 2010
Well I got back from the Build Conference in one piece, I hate flying! What an awesome conference it was, really enjoyable.
The talks I found really inspirational especially Mr Tim Browns talk about Typography and the history of it, it blew my mind how much he both knew and the sheer amount of passion you could see he had for his job at Typekit and Typography in general.
The Keegan Jones/Tim Van Damme talk regarding mobile development (specifically iPhone) and how to come to terms with designing for iPhone and the latest iPhone 4 hi-res screens was really interesting as well as trying to overcome design boundaries on such a small medium, really opened my eyes to the effort that goes into designing for such a small screen when you need to get x amount of information on there.
There was some other great talks there in Belfast and the information never let up, nor did the coffee, pick-&-mix or free swag (see pic).
Overall, an awesome conference, a big thanks to the organiser and super-busy guy on the day Andy McMillan, they’re already talking about names for next years conference, so i’m hoping to go again next time!
