Hardboiled Web Design
February 2, 2011
Following up on my previous post regarding Looking back is not the future I started reading the latest book by web supremo Andy Clarke, that book is titled ‘Hardboiled Web Design’ and is all about embracing HTML5 and CSS3.
Hardboiled Web Design has been a very interesting read with some brilliant quotes, storytelling and great demos that you, yourself can replicate in the world of web design.
Andy had some of the best in the industry at his disposal for this book including contributions from Simon Collison, Jeffrey Zeldman, Tim Van Damme (Tech Editor) and Illustrations by Elliot Jay Stocks (8 faces) & Kevin Cornell.
I would have to say that the book is definitely recommended to anyone who is interested in moving along NOW with new web technologies and not having to look back constantly to browsers that can’t do what modern browsers can.
At £32 the book is fairly pricey and even more so if you did what I did and bought the limited edition bundle which, includes the Book, PDF and a poster but overall I would say the book is more than worth the price because of how well it is written, how great the demonstrations are and because of the passion that Andy Clarke enthuses throughout – really inspiring.
