Ponyo, Blu-ray, awesomeness.
July 20, 2010
It was my birthday on Friday and so I decided to treat myself to a new Blu-ray, and I couldn’t think of anything better to buy for myself than the recent UK release of Ponyo on Blu-ray, I wasn’t disappointed!
Ponyo is the story of Sosuke and a Goldfish that he discovers one morning washed up on the beach who he names Ponyo. The story revolves primarily around Sosuke and him trying to find Ponyo again after he loses her to the ocean, once Sosuke is finally reuinted with Ponyo he discovers that Ponyo has magical powers and that she can change her shape to that of a human.
The voice cast for Ponyo is pretty impressive, including Matt Damon as Sosuke’s father, Cate Blanchett as his mother and Liam Neeson as Ponyo’s father Fujimoto who no matter how hard he tries, he cannot stop Ponyo from leaving him and the rest of the ocean to get back to Sosuke.
Ponyo is a great kids film, it’s really sweet and i’m sure anyone would enjoy watching it, especially if you pick up the Blu-ray release like I did, the animation is wonderful and the colours are so vibrant. The voice acting is clear and well done and the music is beautiful, pick it up!
